Teen & Adolescent Residential Treatment Program

We provide residential treatment services for teenage boys between the ages of 11 and 18. Our program offers personalized treatment plans that include a mix of evidence-based clinical approaches, hands-on experiences, and academic assistance, all aimed at fostering lasting and effective healing.  By utilizing trauma-informed care, offering compassionate support, and fostering a nurturing community, we aid individuals in building coping mechanisms, stabilizing behaviors, and uncovering pathways towards reuniting with family or transitioning into foster care/adoption.

What Is Teen Residential Treatment?

Residential treatment programs are facilities where individuals live and receive structured healthcare services. The daily schedule in these programs for teenagers typically includes clinical care, experiential activities, and academic support. Throughout their stay, clients reside in a cozy, home-like environment under the supervision of trained professionals such as psychiatrists, therapists, residential counselors, nurses, dietitians, and experiential therapy practitioners.

At Straight Path, our teenage residential treatment program goes beyond just clinical and experiential therapy by incorporating an educational element into the structured routine. Clients engage in various forms of therapy including individual, family, and group sessions, as well as activities like adventure therapy, art and music therapy, yoga, and more. Research indicates that integrated approaches, addressing all aspects of an adolescent’s well-being—psychological, physical, relational, and educational—are most effective in residential treatment.

How Do You Know When Teen Residential Treatment Is Needed?

When a teenager exhibits consistent signs of depression, trauma, anxiety, distress, or defiance, they may require the comprehensive assistance offered by a residential treatment program. Sometimes, residential treatment becomes necessary following a period of inpatient care in a hospital due to an adolescent's mental health crisis. Additionally, residential care can be beneficial for teenagers who have participated in outpatient care or regular therapy but necessitate a higher level of support. Studies indicate that residential programs are highly effective in addressing issues such as teen depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and eating disorders. Moreover, experts suggest that a minimum of 90 days of residential treatment is recommended for optimal results.
